I recently had the privilege of filming with Hà, Tí and Nguyệt while they were making a mountain of the noodles that are in pho. Hà has been making a variety of Vietnamese noodles for nearly 20 years. Her team produces roughly 400 kg of bánh phở on a daily basis that serve the majority of Ha Long and some neighboring islands. The process behind making bánh phở is fairly simple. Rice is soaked in water and then ground into a batter. From there, the batter runs through a steamer and produces sheets of noodles which are then cut, hung to dry, and eventually distributed. I tried to find a statistic on how much phở is consumed across Vietnam on an annual basis, but I came up short. Needless to say, it’s a lot. Love the pho i eat every day i am here and people keep saying to me why you eat pho all the time its because i love it and it makes me feel good some of the spicey food makes me a bit sick sone times so i stick with the pho. Thanks for taking Vietnamese cultures to all of people over the world, i proud of my Vietnam and thank you so much. A tree made of straight lines would hold no appeal. Looking back, I can see that every job I had taught me more about what I wanted and brought me one step closer to work that I loved. Teach peace Sunflower. Every relationship prepared me in some small way to be with the man I would eventually marry.
