This is a lie. Never say anything derogatory, unkind, or generally negative about yourself. Never. Don’t do it. Stop right now. How you feel about yourself is the foundation for everything you do in life. Be your own best friend. This is a dangerous blanket statement. As an example, person who leans toward narcissism will use this to hurt others. Teach others how to find their truth. Telling someone to be without giving lessons on how to become is not helpful. This reminds me of another related phrase I’ve heard in the past. Too many young men marry young women assuming the young woman will never change. Too many young women marry young men assuming they’ll be able to change him. Both groups are doomed to disappointment. People change. It’s what they do. Go with the changes and embrace the changes, or be doomed to disappointment. This is truly the key to a long relationship, and it works both ways 44 years and counting, looking forward to who God changes us to become better in His eyes. Alot of wisdom there…my parents were together my whole life until Mom passed in 2008 and then Dad joined her in 2014. I miss them both soooooo much!
